I get so many inquiries from writers who want to write more.  I hear so much anxiety over what they are not doing. And while I understand that fear all too well, I also know that fretting is not conducive to creating anything.

Flogging yourself will not bring forward your deepest truths.

Here’s an alternative fix to freaking out.

Slow down and allow yourself to rest.

Lie on the floor with a pillow under your knees and breathe deeply. Or get in bed with pillows propped behind you and read. Put your mind in the open space of not doing and not knowing.

Rest and receive.

Then get to the page with the intention of resting and receiving there.
