As Write the Wise Way Home slowly transitions to Writers’ Sanctuary, I want to share a few guiding principles I’m working on.

I hope they will inspire you.

1) I believe that writers with urgent stories are often reluctant prophets and that their messages are necessary to mending our broken world.

2) I also believe these stories are for the writer first, that thinking about who will read them comes later, that you write the book that needs to be written, and that the work will heal the writer first.

3) I believe that these reluctant prophets need and deserve sacred time and space to create, to be held by one another, by a gentle guide, and by Source, whether you believe in God or Goddess, the Universe or the Divine, or the Allness of Being.

4) I believe time spent outside of writing is equally important to hours clocked at the page, that making space to listen and receive matters more than word count.

5) I believe that obstacles to writing point to the way forward, that they signal something below the surface that is ready to shift.

6) I believe that love is indeed the answer, that learning to love yourself truly and deeply learning, is the key to unlock the writer’s heart.

Let me know what lands for you or if something feels fuzzy and needs further clarification.

I value your response.

I will offer the fundamental Writers’ Sanctuary course on overcoming obstacles again this fall. Space is limited, and I already have a waiting list. Let me know if you want to be added.
