Attune to the change in the light.
Attune to the energy of the season.
Linger and listen and wait.
When you feel ready, pick up an old piece of writing
And begin again.
Copy it by hand,
In pencil, on good paper.
Let your mind fill in the pieces
Where you felt rushed before.
What do you hear and see and sense now
That you didn’t notice before?
What thoughts do you want to add,
The ones that come from the bottom of your mind?
Take as long as you need
Then put your work away.
When you feel ready, go back and look again.
Wait for the right moment.
Then, once again, slow down.
Linger and listen and wait for what’s next.
